Rough week to be seven...

It's been quite a week in my community...  On Sunday I was visited by my cousin and her two children. The oldest is seven.  He just got a new iTouch for his birthday, so, he is a thoroughly modern young man.  And for whatever reason he likes to come see me.  I have "cool" toys well, maybe not so cool anymore, but I do have wifi so that must make me cool.  The only disappointment for him on these visits is that he has to eat Chinese instead of Taco Bell.  And that's where it happened...  While eating his lunch he noticed the television turned to CNN.  They were running the tape of the sarin gas victims in Syria and he was mesmerized.  All those people.  "Mom look, look".  "Uh, huh, it's sad.  Eat".  How do you explain Syria to me, let alone a 7 year old...  The same afternoon, a community close to where I live was told that a 7 year old girl was missing.  The outpouring of people from all over the region was amazing.  Over a thousand people came out the first day, and many more during the next two days.  Sadly, the little girl was found dead this week, a victim of her uncle who was babysitting her.  Uh, huh, it's sad...

Tip for today:  make a list!  Lists are a procrastinator's greatest tool.  Write down all tasks that need to be done.  This gives you a heads up of what needs to be done, when its actually due and those activities you probably won't be involved in.  You're welcome...

The beginning...

My friend Dianne suggested that I start this blog.  A snarky, mostly unhelpful guide for those of us who put things off.  I admit it, I am a card carrying member of the two headed turtle society.  I have been since, well, really I don't know a time in my life when I wasn't.  So, here goes nothing!  Thanks, Di!  Another thing to distract me from all those things I'm "suppose"  to be doing but never quite get to...
